Types of Vinyl Sheet Flooring
At GOFLOORIT, vinyl sheet flooring is one of the many options we offer. Our showroom has some carefully selected lines for decorative sheet material so make sure you pop by if you can’t see exactly what you’re looking for on our website.
Vinyl sheet flooring is available in a wide range of designs, colours together with a standard R10 anti slip texture. This caters for both traditional and modern tastes, there is something for everyone. Some popular options include:
Wood-look Vinyl – Mimics natural wood grains and colours like oak, walnut or grey ash, providing a warm aesthetic without the upkeep of real wood.
Stone-look Vinyl – Offers the appearance of slate, marble or travertine, ideal for bathrooms or kitchens where a touch of luxury is desired.
Patterned and Decorative Designs – From geometric prints to vintage tile patterns, these options are great for creating bold statements in hallways or feature spaces.
All designs come in standard thickness between 2-3mm with a 0.2mm decorative layer which is more suited to a domestic and light commercial environment. Because of this we would always recommend a consultation before purchasing vinyl flooring. We want to make sure that you get exactly what you need.
If you’re curious about how different styles can transform your space. Book a consultation or pop into our showroom.
Difference Between Vinyl Sheet Flooring, Laminate Flooring, and Other Hard Floorings
When choosing the right hard flooring for your home, it's important to understand the differences between the main types:
Vinyl Sheet Flooring is made from synthetic materials (PVC), providing water resistance, flexibility, and seamless installation. Our clients often choose it for rooms where water is present like bathrooms and kitchens. It is often warmer and quieter underfoot than harder surfaces which makes it a more comfortable flooring option.
Laminate Flooring is composed of a high-density fibreboard (HDF) core with a photographic layer and protective topcoat. While it offers realistic wood or stone visuals, laminate is more rigid and not entirely waterproof which could influence your decision.
Luxury Vinyl Tile (LVT) is a newer hard flooring type similar to sheet vinyl but it comes in planks or tiles rather than one long roll. It offers more structural rigidity and easier spot repairs, but typically at a higher cost.
Engineered Wood and Solid Timber are premium options offering real wood finishes, but they require more upkeep and are sensitive to moisture and temperature changes.
Tiles (ceramic or porcelain) are extremely durable option and are waterproof but can feel cold underfoot which sometimes puts people off. The installation is also a much bigger job and not something we can offer at GOFLOORIT.
